Àṣàlewà
Àṣàlewà is a Centre For Yoruba Distance Learning established on the 24th of June, 2020. We are passionate about communication in West African languages, Arts & Culture. We teach and promote speaking of the Yorùbá language, widely spoken in West Africa and most prominently southwestern. We, as a cultural center, give quality and effective training.
We are an online language learning institute in which you can participate from anywhere worldwide.
After signing up for our classes which can be a group or private class depending on your interest, you’ll have full access to the tutor, WhatsApp support group with your colleagues, ebooks, welcome package, accountability group, pre-recorded videos, and zoom class session every week.
Meet Our Founder
My name is Olagunju Modupe, a Yorùbá language catalyst. The founder of Àṣàlewà Yoruba Institute. I was born and raised in Nigeria.
Before becoming an online Yorùbá teacher, I served in the Corporate Department, Airway Side, and Fire Department of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria.
I have worked in schools and other educational centers, teaching kids, teens, and adults, and I’ve got good commendations from supervisors and colleagues.
I am super passionate about communication in the Yorùbá language. I love the language so much, and I can put you through speaking and understanding the language.
Learning the Yorùbá language is easy and fun with me. No jokes, you can’t attend one of my classes and not long for more. My aim for anyone taking my online Yorùbá course is to have a basic understanding and conversation in Yorùbá language at the end of the course. Share your Yoruba language problems with me, and it will be solved.

The class was very helpful in knowing how to go about addressing people.
